I'm African, a shaman for me is simply a traditional healer. Traditional healers differ, they have different gifts and different titles hence they help with different type of problems. They are spiritually gifted and have a deep relationship with their ancestors because the ancestors are the one that chose this person and handed the person the gift. It's a unique gift. When the lady would sing and dance while they were people playing the drums, it reminded me of sangoma(traditional healer). Sangomas dance and play drums to appease their ancestors in SA. I was basically watching African spirituality in an Asian version. I was surprised at how Asians believe in spirituality in as much as Africans do. I thought other people across the globe didn't take spirituality seriously as Africans do. With that said, I was raised to believe in God and believe that ancestors do exist
